Sending a Recarga From the US: Every Question Answered
Whether this is your first recarga or your fiftieth, some questions come up over and over. Here they all are, in one place, answered directly — no marketing fluff.
How much can I send?
Is there a limit on how much I can send?
Yes. Per transaction, the limit is $100. Daily, it's $200 across all your recargas combined. Monthly, it's $1,000. These are the same limits for every account today — there's no separate higher tier currently available.
Why does Wyra have limits at all?
Transaction limits are a standard anti-fraud and anti-money-laundering control across the industry, not something specific to how much you're "trusted." They apply the same way to every account.
Payment & account
What payment methods can I use?
Debit or credit card through Stripe, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay where your device supports them. Card details are never seen or stored by Wyra directly.
Do I need to create an account before my first recarga?
No. You can check out as a guest with just an email address for your first purchase.
Does the recipient need an account or an app?
No. The recarga lands on their existing phone number directly through their carrier — nothing to install or sign up for on their end.
If something goes wrong
What happens if I enter the wrong number?
Double-check before you pay — if the recarga completes successfully to the number you entered, that's final, even if it was the wrong one. This is the one thing that's on you to get right; see the full refund guarantee explainer for details.
What if the carrier can't deliver it?
You're refunded automatically to your original payment method — no support ticket required. If the automatic refund itself can't process, our team resolves it manually, typically within 24 hours.
How do I know which carrier a number is on?
If you're not sure, start the recarga flow with the number and we'll help identify the carrier before you pay.
Repeat & scheduled recargas
Can I save a number so I don't retype it every time?
Yes. After your first recarga to a number, you can save it as a beneficiary with a nickname — future recargas to that number take a couple of taps.
Can I schedule recurring recargas?
Wyra can remind you on a schedule you choose so you don't have to remember on your own — but each recarga still requires you to confirm and pay. Nothing is auto-charged to your card without you actively completing the checkout.
Points & referrals
Do I earn anything for sending recargas?
Yes — every recarga earns loyalty points toward perks, and you have a referral code you can share; both you and whoever you refer get credit when they complete their first purchase.
Where do I see my points and referral code?
Both are visible in your account once you're signed in — check how points work and how referrals work for the details.
Ready to send your first recarga?
No account required to start — just their number and a card.
